The Mercedes-Benz SL-Class models are convertible roadsters for customers with exclusive taste. The SL-Class is comprised of three distinct models; the SL550 is the base, and the other two, the AMG SL63 and AMG SL65, are high performance models hand-built and tuned by Mercedes-AMG.The base SL500 has a 5.5-liter 382 horsepower V8 engine mated to a seven-speed automatic transmission. Moving up to the AMG SL63 nets a hand-built 6.3-liter engine that puts out an impressive 518 horsepower. This model has a MCT (multi-clutch technology) automatic transmission with seven speeds. But it’s the AMG SL65 that is the supercar of the group boasting an amazing 604 horses from its 6.0-liter bi-turbo V12 engine connected to a heavy-duty five-speed automatic transmission.
Both the AMG SL63 and the AMG SL65 have all the styling and performance upgrades expected from the Mercedes-Benz AMG shop. They have aggressive body styling and a lower stance compared to the SL550.
Standard on all three SL-Class models are a powered retractable hardtop, all leather interior, and active body control. Other luxury features include a 10-speaker surround sound system by Harman Kardon with an in-dash 6-disc changer, 40GB hard drive, SIRIUS satellite radio (with 6 month subscription), iPod media interface, Bluetooth, dual-zone climate control, GPS navigation, and Mercedes-Benz’s COMAND system with voice control for navigation and telephone.

The base model of the exciting new Mercedes-Benz S-Class is the SL550. This sporty convertible is powered by a 382-hp 5.5-L V8 and a 7-speed automatic transmission.
Mercedes-Benz AMG is the in-house tuning facility for Mercedes-Benz, and they’re known for producing the fastest and most powerful Mercedes-Benz models. Here in the AMG SL550 the tuners at AMG have made many performance, style, and handling improvements over the base SL550. This includes a 518 horsepower V8 and a multi-clutch seven-speed automatic transmission. 
The folks at the Mercedes-Benz AMG facility have created one of the fastest and most sophisticated cars on the road today. The new 2011 Mercedes-Benz AMG SL65 has a huge bi-turbo 7.0-liter V12 engine that puts out an impressive 604 horsepower and 738 lb-ft of torque.
